Rosell will not end Fabregas pursuit

Sandro Rosell, winner of the presidential elections yesterday, assured the fans that he will continue with the negotiations to buy Cesc Fabregas (23), according to the English newspaper The Guardian. Rosell plans to have a meeting soon with Josep Guardiola to discuss how Pep wants to strengthen the squad. Rosell says that the meeting will take place within four days, as Guardiola will after that time be on vacation.

Rosell has also confirmed that he will have a sitdown with Joan Laporta, the current president through the end of June, to discuss his plans to get Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona. “When we get together, Laporta will explain at what stage the Cesc situation is at. If negotiations are advanced and the coaching staff want the player, we will continue with the negotiations, without doubt.”

Arsenal have previously rejected Barcelona’s offer of £33 million for Cesc Fabregas, who is at this moment in South Africa with Spain’s national team. Rosell made it clear that if Laporta and his team would face problems in the negotiations, he will be the first one to give them the help they need. “Until 1 July we can’t do anything [as Laporta and his team remain in charge for two more weeks], but if they need help then we will be the first to give it.”
